Volunteers are the heart of San Antonio Region Justice For Our Neighbors. The commitment of our volunteers to make a difference in the lives of others is seen by our clients and helps them feel valued, loved and important. For many of our clients, no one has cared for so long a small gesture brings a large smile. Our clients remember the help of volunteers for years to come because you provided hope at a time when their world was very bleak. Below is a list of volunteer activities. If you have a special skill that isn’t high-lighted please fill out the contact form and let us know.
Translators – Do you speak another language? Chances are we could use your help! Last year we served clients from Africa, Asia, North, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Europe. You do not need to be familiar with the law to help, you just need to be comfortable reading and writing in another language to help us translate client stories and documents. Training is provided.
Notary Help Needed At Workshops – We need the help of notaries at many of our workshops. Let us know if you would be willing to help – as your schedule allows. Must be an official Texas Notary.
Special Event Help Needed – We hold workshops that often require help setting up, greeting participants and handing out material. This is a great opportunity for high school students in need of community service hours as well. Training provided on-site before the event.
Office Work – We need help with everything from making copies to data entry and everything in between. Training is provided.
Social Media Ambassador – Help us spread our message by sharing our posts and messages with your social network. Training is provided.
Public Policy Advocate – SARJFON Public Policy Advocates help us educate our elected officials by letting them know how you feel about legislation that impacts our immigrant neighbors. This is a volunteer activity you can do without leaving your home. Training is provided.
